The Welsh is postponed - New date May 17th & 18th.
Due to an unfortunate lack of swell in the forecast, the Welsh National Surfing Championships will not go ahead over the upcoming bank holiday weekend. While the sun may be shining and the weather unusually glorious in the run-up, the conditions simply aren’t right for a fair and competitive surfing event.
Organisers have been closely monitoring the forecast, and despite the beach weather, it's clear that Mother Nature isn’t delivering the waves we need. That said, normal weather service is expected to resume by the weekend—with a drop in temperature and a load of cloud, a return to more typical British Bank Holiday conditions look to be on the cards.
New Proposed Dates: May 17–18, 2025
All current entries will automatically roll over to the rescheduled date - no action is needed from competitors. We’ll continue to monitor conditions and give the 'on' or 'off' call closer to the new weekend, but no later than Thursday 15th at 6pm.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for the latest updates.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. We’re looking forward to seeing you all in the water soon - for a proper showdown under proper surfing conditions!
