Fresh' West announced as back up venue for this weekend's Welsh.

EXCITING UPDATE – Freshwater West available this weekend as back-up venue for the PuraVida MiPost Welsh Nationals 2025.

We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generous support and agreement of the National Trust, Freshwater West in Pembrokeshire is now a confirmed alternative venue for this year’s PuraVida MiPost Welsh Nationals!

While our much-loved Llantwit Major is our premier location, current swell forecasts suggest it may not provide the conditions needed to run the competition this weekend. After careful consideration and planning, we're excited to embrace the opportunity to bring the event to one of Wales’ most iconic surf beaches.

With a promising swell on the horizon and fine weather forecasted, Freshwater West offers an incredible natural amphitheatre for showcasing the very best of Welsh surfing talent. Although we won’t have a building to house our electric scoring and priority system, the conditions look favourable enough for us to bring the event to life in the open air.

We will confirm the final event location—either Llantwit Major or Freshwater West—and whether we have enough swell for the comp to run by midday this Thursday.

We kindly ask that competitors and attendees notify us if a move to Freshwater West would impact your ability to attend. Please email us at admin@wsf.wales.

A huge thank you once again to the National Trust for their support. We can’t wait to celebrate the sport we love on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast!

See you in the surf,
