WSF Announces Welsh Squad for GB Cup 2023

The Welsh Surfing Federation (WSF) has announced the Welsh squad ahead of the GB Cup 2023.

Taking place this weekend (Saturday 28 and Sunday 28 October) at Fistral, Newquay, the GB Cup sees the best of the Home Nations go all out in a bid to win the premier trophy in British team surfing.

Current GB Cup holders, England, will be looking to emulate their outstanding performances of the Vissla/Sisstr 2022 British Cup. Led by captain, Luke Dillon, the English surfers adapted well to tricky conditions at Llantwit Major, South Wales to bring home the silverware.

You can read the full report of the Vissla/Sisstr 2022 British Cup 2022 here in Carve Mag.

For 2023, the Welsh squad is absolutely frothing for it and ready to take on country’s finest! Current Welsh Junior champions, Elliot Barton (LBR) and Josie Hawke (PSC) are among the young shredders leading the way in the U18s Boys’ and Girls’ divisions respectively.

There’s no less pedigree among seniors, where the likes of current Welsh Women’s champ, Emily Williams (CCSC), and Welsh Men’s title-holder Patrick Langdon-Dark (LBR) make up teams bursting with wild Welsh talent.

The comp starts early this Saturday (28 October), and all the action will be streamed live via the WSF website. Please stay tuned for further updates on how to get connected!
