Wales Paddle-Out Protests 2026
Surfers across Wales will join communities around the UK this Saturday (16 May) for the 2026 Paddle-Out Protest — a national day of action calling for an end to sewage pollution in our seas, rivers and coastlines.
Organised by Surfers Against Sewage, the protests will see thousands of people gathering at beaches, rivers and lakes around the UK to stand up for cleaner water and healthier environments.
Here in Wales we're at the forefront of the issue, and we're sick of being sick of it. Our valueable coastlines are central to our communities, wellbeing and surf culture, and we have to take a stand when it comes to protecting the environments that sustain us.
Organised events such as the Toxic Trophy at Langland demonstrate the strong activism that Welsh communities have always brought against water pollution. Tomorrow offers the opportunity for us to come together and bang the drum loudly once more, sending out the message that cleanliness of our waterways is paramount.
A number of Paddle-Out events are taking place across Wales tomorrow.

This year’s Paddle-Out Protest is expected to be the biggest national mobilisation in the campaign’s history, with 56 events planned across the UK.
Due to this week’s tragic incident in Brighton, protests at Brighton West Pier and Rottingdean have been cancelled, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
